How Much Does an Elliptical Weigh?

The regular elliptical machine is the one you see in the gym. It is a machine that has two pedals that are connected to a flywheel or, in some cases, a fan. There are two hand grips that you can use to steady yourself while running, which also adds an additional movement to the machine.

Elliptical machines come in two different weight categories, as previously stated. The heavier group weighs between 120 and 250 pounds and a lighter groups weighs between 60 and 80 pounds. 

The lighter category comprises of extremely basic elliptical machines with no computers and all of which are adjusted by hand. Perhaps there’s a small display that tells you how fast you’re going. They’re frequently built lighter as well, with lighter flywheels and overall design.

The heavier ones are similar to the elliptical machines you’d find at a professional gym. They are controlled by a computer. From the display, you may control the speed, resistance, program, and much more. Some of these even include huge TFT panels that can be used for a variety of purposes.

The heavier, more sophisticated ellipticals, as you might expect, are also quite a bit more expensive. The lighter, simpler versions start at $130 and go up from there. The more expensive and difficult ones start at around $600 and go up to several thousand dollars. Although the less expensive models can still provide a good cardio workout, the more expensive models are more pleasant to use.

The heavier, more expensive machines often have a greater range of resistances, a larger number of programs, are better made, and operate more smoothly. All of those things are nice to have, but they aren’t absolutely necessary for a decent workout.
